George's Turn is the eleventh episode of the fourth season.

Plot

Theodore, George and Hank are to bring a ship named Annapolis into the harbour. George shows off his favorite move to Theodore and Hank. He vrooms his engine as he speeds up, builds up smoke, and swings to the side of Annapolis, and then stops. He hopes everyone was watching, but Theodore and Hank have their eyes set on something else. A small ship that was the same size and shape as the tugboats, but different. The ship also has a helicopter on board. But George isn't interested and wants to do his job. Because he's only interested in himself.

Next morning, the Dispatcher sends Theodore and George to move Owan the Oil Rig out on the ocean. Theodore thinks moving Owan will be fun, and sways side to side with happiness. Owan loudly shouts hello to them and says things were getting quiet without them. But Theodore knows nothing is ever quiet with Owan around. George smiles and does his favorite move he did yesterday and hoped Owan was watching. But like Theodore and Hank, he had his eyes set on something else. The new ship from yesterday had arrived, much to George's irritation. The ship introduces herself as Sigrid and would be Owan's new supply ship. Owan is happy to hear this, and loudly says that's fantastic, which is enough to rattle the helicopter on her. Theodore introduces himself to her, and George grouchily says hello. Sigrid has Owan's supplies, and she gets herself into place. She even goes sideways, which George grows jealous over. He thinks going sideways is easy. Theodore comments he's never seen him do that. But George pretends to stare out in the ocean. Owan lifts up the supplies with his crane, and Sigrid tells him he'll be back tomorrow with extra cables and says goodbye to Theodore and George. Owan thinks she's quite super. But George is still jealous thinking going sideways is easy.

That evening, the tugs gather around for story telling time. George vrooms his engine so the others will listen. He tells them that he and Theodore moved Owan halfway, and they would finish moving him the rest of the way. Then Sigrid passes by and docks somewhere else. Theodore thinks she looked lonely. But George doesn't notice as he is vrooming his engine loudly and billowing smoke and continues on with his story.

The next day, George and Theodore arrive to finish moving Owan. But a storm is brewing. George is preparing to do his favorite move when Sigrid arrives with the extra cables. George is annoyed because he thinks no one would see him do his favorite move. Sigrid gets herself into position, and Owan lowers his cable. But as she is about to leave, the storm starts to worsen. Theodore suggests that they should ask Sigrid for help. She overhears and is eager to help. George doesn't want to, until a big wave hits his deck. So, he swallows his pride and tells Sigrid to get ready. She does so, and she speeds up, and swooshes to a stop beside Owan. George can't believe what he just witnessed. Sigrid did his move. He asks her how she learned to do that. And Sigrid says she always does it, and that it's her favorite. George smiles and does the exact same move. Theodore buttons on, and the three move Owan. George also admits to Theodore that Sigrid really is nice.

As the three return to the harbour, the other tugs had gathered for story telling time. Sigrid says goodnight to Theodore and George and heads back to her own dock. But George stops her and asks if she would like to join them. She happily accepts, and George also asks if she could teach him how to go sideways. To which she would. Theodore sways side to side, and so do George and Sigrid. Because they are all happy.
