Owan on the Loose is the twenty-ninth episode of the fourth season.

Plot[]

Sigrid the supply ship is bringing Owan the oil rig his supplies. Owan is bringing up the supplies with his winch and lowering them on his deck. He's even enjoying the sunset as it's nice and quiet. But Owan is the exact opposite of quiet, and Sigrid knows it. He thanks her for the supplies of sprockets. Sigrid asks if he needs anything else. Owan says no, until he remembers he needs new anchor cables. The ones he has right now are getting worn. Sigrid can see that and knows it can be dangerous if he's not kept in place. So she decides to get them right away. Owan asks if it's all right to do so, as it's getting dark. But Sigrid says it's no trouble at all and shouts one of Owan's quotes: "No-sir-ree-dee! No trouble for me!" just for fun and sets off. Owan admits she's a nice boat. But she's kind of loud. Which is ironic, because he's usually the loud one.

Sigrid arrives at Old Dock 23, where no one really goes to anymore, and looks for new anchor cables. She finds them underneath a pile of junk, and an old crane. She gets her hauling rope tied to them and pulls them on to her deck. But she doesn't realize she was pulling the junk and the crane as well. And they fall on her deck. She's not damaged though and tries to move. But the crane has her pinned down. Sigrid knows there's nothing she can do, so she turns off her engine and waits for help, assuring herself Owan will miss her and he'll find someone to help her.

Owan is still waiting for Sigrid with his new anchor cables and sings a little song. Then he sees someone coming. He thinks it's Sigrid, but it's really Northumberland. He tells him he's been waiting for Sigrid, but she hasn't returned yet. So, Northumberland offers to look for her and sets off. As he disappears underwater, Owan thinks to himself that Northumberland's good at finding stuff underwater, but not above water and might not find Sigrid. Then he flips out and thinks Sigrid's in trouble. He doesn't float still for long and raises his old anchor cables. But they snap as he raises them up because hasn't used them for so long. But it doesn't matter to him. He blares his siren and begins to search for Sigrid. The emergency motors in his legs make him move like a crab as he searches. Northumberland hears the noise and is horrified to see Owan moving on his own. He quickly heads to the Great Ocean Tug & Salvage Company Dock for help.

The tugboats are sleeping when Northumberland pops out of the water. Hank thinks he's a big scary shape, and inadvertently awakens the whole harbour. Northumberland tells them that Owan's anchor cables are broken and is on the loose. The Dispatcher sends Theodore, George, and Foduck to go with Northumberland and recue Owan. Owan is still looking for Sigrid when he sees a giant cliff right in front of him. He tries everything he can to stop moving. But there's nothing he can do. He was completely out of control. Northumberland is leading Theodore, George and Foduck to where Owan is, when they hear him calling for help. They turn to see that he's about to collide into the cliff. They quickly spring into action and pull Owan hard. They struggle at first, but soon, Owan stops moving, just in time. And they pull him back away from the cliff. Theodore asks him what happened. Owan tells him about Sigrid, who Northumberland forgot about. Owan admits he got overexcited, and that if he had stayed put where he was, the tugs would've been out finding her. So, they head to Dock 23 where Sigrid is, and Owan waits this time.

Sigrid is still pinned down when she sees the tugs coming to her aid and wonders where they have been all this time. They tell her about Owan and what happened. So once the crane is lifted off her, she heads to Owan with the new anchor cables. Owan tells her how the events unfolded and reassures her that something like that won't happen again. Sigrid smiles and knows it won't now that Owan has his new anchor cables to keep him in place, and heads for home.
