Scally's Stuff is the thirteenth episode of the third season.

Plot

Theodore and Hank are given the job to bring in a ship named Scally. With George gone on an ocean job, the two harbour tugs get to bring in the ship by themselves. Hank doesn't know who Scally looks like. But Theodore tells him the Dispatcher said they can't miss him. And they don't. Scally is like a floating carnival with very unique stuff and circus music playing. They introduce themselves to him and Scally is very friendly to the small harbour tugs. Hank asks him about his stuff, which he calls treasures, and he tells them he's collected them from all around the world. And he wants to share them with the tugs and around the Big Harbour. He gives Theodore a wind spinner as a token of his appreciation. Even though Theodore doesn't know how it works, he's still pretty thrilled about it.

After Theodore and Hank moved Scally to his dock, they tell Foduck about him. So, Foduck goes to meet him. Scally is quite impressed that Foduck is the safety tug and tells him he has something for him. So, Foduck sees a big red emergency siren and he takes it. Foduck shows it to the other tugs. But when he tries to get it to work, nothing happens. But it has a mind of its own and goes off by itself. Hank is excited and wants something from Scally too.

Theodore and Hank go visit Scally again, and Hank is given a big yellow bumper. But it's so big, it makes him bump into Theodore. And again, when they leave. Emily also gets a smokestack extension from Scally. Hank hasn't gotten use to his new big bumper and bumps into Emily. Then Foduck's emergency horn goes off on its own again and scared all the tugs. Foduck is getting frustrated with it. Theodore is getting dizzy from the wind spinner. And he tries to go back to work, he can hardly go in a straight line. The other tugs are concerned for him.

Things are getting no better for Theodore as he is trying to move Bobby barge. Bobby believes he's getting seasick from watching the spinner. He tries to close his eyes even though he unintentionally bumps Bedford buoy. Hank is still having a hard time with his big bumper and bumps into Theodore again which makes him open his eyes. Both of the tugs are getting sick of Scally's stuff. And Theodore can hardly move anymore. So, Hank goes to help him with Bobby. But he keeps bouncing off of Bobby because of his bumper. So, Emily comes to help, but her smokestack extension makes her get caught on Bobby's crane. Then Foduck comes to help. At first, he's calm, but once again his emergency horn goes off by itself and makes him panic. The tugs are upset because of the stuff they got from Scally. Foduck is about to make a suggestion, but his emergency siren goes off yet again. Then Theodore starts to laugh. And so do the other tugs. They soon realize how silly they look. So, they all decide to get rid of the things they got from Scally.

After Bobby is moved, the tugs see Shamus leaving the harbour. They tell him that if they see Scally out on the ocean, then he shouldn't get any of his stuff. Because it's useless. Before Scally had left, he did make one more visit to Bedford, as he is seen wearing a hat and bow tie.

Characters

Trivia

  • First and only appearance of Scally.
  • Scally gives Theodore a wind spinner, Hank a big orange bumper, Foduck a siren, Emily a smokestack extension and Bedford a hat and bow tie.
  • Hank's big orange bumper looks like it belongs from a monster truck or a quarry vehicle.

Goofs

  • In the last shot of Emily getting her smokestack extension getting stuck in Bobby's crane, she manages to get it free, but in the next shot, it looks like the crane chain is still on the smokestack extension, but then slides off.
  • In the scene with the four tugs cheering with their whistles, George's whistle can be heard, even though he is not there.
  • Even though Emily got her smokestack extension from Scally, it is nowhere to be seen on Scally's deck.
