The Dispatcher's Best Birthday is the twenty-sixth episode of the fourth season.

Plot

The tugs want to get ready for The Dispatcher's birthday party, but rough seas are making their normal work take longer. Emily and George are supposed to get the balloons, but they end up freeing Clementine, who is stuck, instead. And Foduck, who is supposed to sing 'Happy Birthday,' uses up his whistle dealing with emergencies during the storm. Hank and Theodore are supposed to get a present and bring the tug-of-war rope and party lights, but they use the rope and lights to save Bayswater Barge's cargo, and the emergency leaves them no time to get a present. Sadly, the tugs return to the dock. They are sure The Dispatcher will be disappointed that they can't throw him a party. Instead, The Dispatcher tells them that the wonderful job they did during the storm made him proud, and that is enough of a present.

Characters

Trivia

  • This episode marks the first appearance of Bayswater.
  • "Happy Birthday" is heard as an instrumental throughout the episode.

Goofs

  • The last scene with the tugs at the Great Ocean Dock is recycled stock footage from Theodore Tells A Lie. This is clear when the tugs are shown with sad faces when they are supposed to be happy.
