Theodore and the Bickering Barges is the thirteenth episode of the fifth season.
Plot[]
Theodore usually loves towing barges, but when he's put in the middle of Bayswater and Brunswick he begins to change his mind. The two barges bicker over everything. They argue about who has more cargo and who's pulling on the ropes. Theodore tries to distract them by pointing to fish jumping out of water but that only leads to a dispute over whether it was a whale or dolphin. When Theodore complains, The Dispatcher suggests that he take only one barge at the time. But that just leads to a fight over who should go first. Theodore gets fed up and leaves. Finally the barges have something they can agree on. They need Theodore to come back so they can finish their work. That first agreement leads to others and before they know it, the two barges are getting along, at least most of the time.
